New Delhi: In order to share key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the coal sector and bring in more transparency in the functioning of the entire administrative mechanism, a  portal called ‘Koyla Darpan’ was launched by Dr Anil Kumar Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Coal here today.

As an initial step, the portal has the following KPIs: coal and lignite production, coal and lignite offtake, exploration data, central sector schemes, status of coal stock in thermal power plants, infrastructure projects, allocation of blocks, monitoring of major coal mines and coal price.

Senior officers of the Ministry of Coal and PSUs were present in the event through VC. Suggestions and views were given by the officers to make the portal more user-friendly. The portal is accessible through the website of the Ministry of Coal (https://coal.gov.in) for maximum public outreach, said the Ministry in a statement. /BI/
